A Message From Our Head of School

Welcome to Sundance! My relationship with Sundance began 31 years ago as a parent and has truly come full-circle. I have served the school as a classroom teacher, program director, music teacher, and grandmother! Now, as we celebrate our Proud Past and look ahead to a Bright Future for Sundance, it is my distinct honor to serve as Head of School. I have experienced firsthand why our faculty, families, and students say, “There’s no place like Sundance.” We set the gold standard for arts-integrated, whole child-centered learning with our progressive educational model. A Sundance education incorporates a balanced blend of the best practices where creativity takes the lead supported by an ensemble of diverse disciplines. This promotes engaged, joyful learning for our students who feel loved, valued and supported through each stage of their development.

Our unique, interactive curriculum integrates imagination and creativity to foster confidence, stimulate intellectual curiosity, inspire self-discovery, and unlock each child’s potential. Through the Creative, Fine, and Performing Arts programs and project based learning, our students, 2 years through 5th grade, embark daily on a hands-on, educational journey that is signature to the Sundance experience.

Sundance embodies the liberal arts. As they learn and grow with us, our students learn to have a deep appreciation for many subject areas. They become proficient in a diverse array of skills and topics. Sundance students are taught to be critically invested in what they are learning, and most certainly to be kind and altruistic towards their peers and the larger world.

At Sundance, each and every child’s gifts are celebrated and nurtured. Their thoughts and ideas are respected. They are encouraged to take creative and intellectual risks. Hence, they develop the ability to find deeper meaning, expand their knowledge base, and stretch their minds to limitless heights. Our expert teachers tailor their instruction to the unique needs and interests of the students while wrapping a tremendous amount of love around the learning process! Sundance kids have a special, lasting connection with their teachers and peers. During their time with us, beautiful friendships are built, magical memories are created, and lifelong learning is inspired. It warms my heart to say with confidence and conviction that for our students, faculty, families, alumni, and myself… Sundance is home.

Please come visit our classrooms, meet our amazing faculty (many of whom have dedicated 2 decades or more to Sundance!), attend a musical theatre production, enjoy our annual Spring Happening, and discover the many brilliant ways learning comes to life for our students.
